The 180M Drilling Rig is a heavy-duty rotary drilling rig for horizontal and directional drilling operations, drilling 3,500 m at 114 mm DP and performing heavy workover operations to 5,600 m at 89 mm DP. The rig is constructed for maximum efficiency with a reduced footprint and all the power and flexibility required to perform challenging drilling tasks. The rig features a slingshot or heavyweight substructure for greater setback capacity or faster mobilization. Its double-drum and carrier-mounted configuration provide it with mobility and flexibility and reduce setup and hauling time.
Mast is 36-38 m, supported on a substructure height of 5.2 m with a hook load of 180 t. There is a 5 x 4 traveling system and 8 lines supplemented by a drill line of 29 mm and rotary table opening of 698.5 mm. Swivel capacity along with traveling & hook block combo is 200 t for heavy-duty lifting and handling. 2 x 540 HP CAT C15 engines drive the rig with 2 x Allison S6620 automatic transmissions offering the total rig power of 1,080 HP.
Instrumentation includes MD/Totco indicators, pneumatic controllers, and 250 t – 400 HP top drive optionally for more drilling accuracy. Winterization, tropical, or Gulf packages can be provided to supply the rig with, and the rig comes with a BOP handling system, hydraulic catwalk, and proprietary solid-control-system automation, which enhances performance across varying operational conditions.
