The KenzFigee W2W AMC Gangway is an advanced solution designed for the safe and efficient transfer of personnel and cargo in offshore environments. Certified according to DNVGL-ST-0358 (December 2015) and DNVGL-ST-0378 (May 2016), this gangway offers unparalleled stability with its 3D Active Motion Compensation technology, ensuring precise motion control through telescoping, slewing, and luffing.
Main design codes : DNVGL-ST-0358 – Certification of offshore gangways for personnel transfer (December 2015), Type 2 gangway – DNV No. 2.22 – Standard for certification – Lifting Appliances (April 2015).
The gangway system design incorporates a pedestal mounted mainframe featuring the slewing bearing and gear units. The pedestal is of a so called X-wing design, which is welded to the vessel’s structure. A MCC room containing the motor starter panels is mounted on the X-wing pedestal.
The operator’s cabin is mounted to the left-hand side of the mainframe. The hydraulic tank and the power packs are located in the machinery house at the back of the mainframe.
Stairs and walkways provide access to the cabin, gangway, machinery house, MCC room and the mainframe.
The gangway consists of a fixed and a telescoping section. The fixed section is attached to the pivot points at the top of the mainframe and supported by twin luffing cylinders. The telescoping winch is mounted on the underside of the fixed section. Connection to the offshore platform is made by means of a bumper system attached to the tip of the telescoping section.
A hoist winch is mounted on the underside of the fixed section, in front of the telescoping winch. The layout of the sheaves ensures that the main hoist hook stays at the same level during telescoping. A hook storage frame is provided at the tip of the telescoping section to store the hook when the gangway is parked in the boom rest and during personnel transfer.
Standard fail-safe features have been included in the design of the control system, including a secondary (back-up) PLC, automatic zero return operating levers, full-size pressure relief valves and hydraulic lock valves.
Key features include the ability to perform cargo transfers of up to 1000 kg in Crane Hook Mode (CHM) and maintain personnel transfer stability in Personnel Transfer Mode (PTM) via an intelligent bumper. The gangway is equipped with a redundant power pack, ensuring reliable operations at all times, and can be fully operated by onboard crew members.
With a working outreach of 16.2m to 26.2m and a versatile working angle range, this gangway can seamlessly adapt to various vessel motions. Designed for over 4 million cycles and 100,000 hours of intensive use, it is both durable and efficient, featuring a fully enclosed and air-conditioned operator cabin, LED lighting, and an advanced camera system for optimal visibility during docking and cargo operations.
The gangway system also includes unlimited slewing via a slip ring mechanism, maximizing operational flexibility. Its modular design allows for easy integration onto different vessels, with customization options available for various landing heights.
