HOS#618 is a versatile survey and multi-role DSV of catamaran hull form, configured for hydrographic survey, air-diving, inspection and light offshore construction-support operations. The vessel is classed MCA Cat 2 for operations within 60 nm of a safe haven and operates under the UK flag. Principal dimensions include an LOA of 24.35 m, beam of 7.60 m, max draft of 2.30 m and air draft of 14.50 m, with a GT of 129 t. The shallow-draft catamaran configuration provides a stable operational platform with access to coastal, nearshore and shallow-water project areas.
Propulsion is provided by 2 x Detroit Allison 650 HP MEs driving 2 x CPPs, delivering a combined output of 1,300 HP. Manoeuvring capability is supported by 2 x 60 HP Brunvoll hyd fwd thrusters and 2 x 60 HP Brunvoll hyd aft thrusters. Electrical power is supplied by 2 x Stamford 45 kW gensets. The vessel has a max speed of 11 kn and an eco speed of 9.5 kn. Fuel consumption is approximately 100 l/day while alongside or on standby and approximately 500 l/day during survey ops.
Tank capacities include 25 m³ of FO, 10 m³ of ballast water, 2 m³ of FW, 840 l of hyd oil and 1.5 m³ of sewage capacity. An ENWA desalination plant is installed for FW production during extended campaigns.
The vessel provides 70 m² of clear working deck suitable for survey spreads, dive systems, project equipment and light construction-support packages. Deck lifting capability is provided by a HIAB 110 Seacrane rated at 5,000 kg at 2.1 m and 600 kg at 12.5 m. An A-frame rated at 1,000 kg SWL supports the deployment and recovery of survey sensors, subsea equipment and other project payloads. A four-point mooring system provides controlled station-keeping for survey, diving, inspection and subsea support ops.
Dive-support arrangements include an integrated dive platform, boarding ladder and compressed-air installation. The vessel incorporates a dedicated survey room and a secondary survey/dive control room, both positioned with unobstructed sightlines across the working deck. These spaces support the monitoring and coordination of simultaneous survey, diving and deck ops.
The permanently installed survey suite includes a Kongsberg EM2042 MBES with 0.7° TX and SRX-SV dual-swath capability. Positioning is provided by an Applanix POS MV Wave Master II marine positioning system c/w In-Fusion 2.0 and TrueHeave. The GNSS package includes a Trimble 10 Rover. Equipment deployment is supported through a moonpool, multiple instrument racks and sensor mounting positions suitable for client-supplied survey and project equipment.
Fully A/C accommodation is arranged for 14 persons, inclusive of marine crew. The accommodation includes a fitted galley, dedicated stores and a spacious lounge, supporting sustained offshore campaigns and multi-day survey, dive and inspection ops.
