This vessel is a highly capable offshore support unit with a gross tonnage of 99 tons, registered under the U.S. flag. It measures 120′ feet in length, 26′ feet in beam, and 9′ feet in depth, offering ample space and functionality for a variety of offshore tasks. The main deck spans 70′ x 25′ feet, with a deck load capacity of 100 tons, making it suitable for demanding offshore operational requirements.
Powered by Detroit Diesel 16V92 engines producing a combined 1200 horsepower, the vessel reaches speeds of up to 12 knots and is equipped with a 200 HP bow thruster for enhanced maneuverability. Propulsion is managed through Twin Disc 527 reduction gears, while hydraulic steering and stern control systems provide precision in handling. Three generators (two DD 371 models rated at 40 kW and one CAT 3406 rated at 260 kW) ensure a reliable power supply across various operational modes, with onboard voltage ranging from 208 to 415 volts.
Certified crew accommodations include berths for 14 POB, along with a spacious 576-cubic-foot walk-in cooler. Climate control is handled by a robust 10-ton air conditioning and heating system. Additional amenities include a passenger lounge and library that can be utilized for client office, enhancing comfort during extended missions/ mobilizations.
The vessel’s fuel capacity is 32,000 gallons, complemented by 2,000 gallons of potable water and 65,000 gallons of ballast water, enabling extended operations. Its advanced navigation and communication suite includes three Furuno radars, dual VHF radios, an SSB radio, and multiple GPS systems (ComNav, Furuno, Garmin). Integrated with a DP-1 dynamic positioning system by Beier Radio, the vessel maintains precise location control. Starlink Global O-G internet provides global connectivity, while additional navigation aids, such as a fathometer, NavTec, and plotter for support of all navigation & communications marine operations.
Deck equipment includes a 25,000 lb man-rated Nautilus crane, a 10,000 lb launch and recovery system (LARS), and a MacArtney R10 fiberoptic winch with an 8,000-foot cable, all powered by a high-performance HPU for deck gear. The anchoring system includes a 3-point anchor configuration and a dedicated windlass.
Specialized for survey/ inspections and dive support operations, the vessel is outfitted with a comprehensive array of diving gear and survey instruments. These include an Edgetech 4200 side-scan sonar, a magnetometer, survey-grade GPS, and Tracklink USBL, along with essential software for mosaicing and photogrammetry. An additional 2 chase/ survey boats with a top speed of 30 knots further supports offshore project versatility can be utilized for mobilization in the GOM.
In addition, the Vessel is classed with research notation and is a turn-key solution for extreme research and exploration projects. She is 120′ ft fully ocean-rated exploration/ research vessel and offers an unprecedented inventory of equipment. Vessel boasts state of the art sonar equipment, magnetometers, photo-mosaicking, and deep-sea camera sleds, necessary for finding and locating objects at deep depths. The 9′ ft draft allows vessel to get in further and closer to many offshore sites while all crew working in comfort not found on most research vessels.
The Vessel has a proven track-record of conducting exploration projects related to scientific research, as well as surveying historical submerged habitation sites and culturally significant shipwrecks.
