This ABS A1, MODU Class 84 slot-type offshore jack-up drilling rig was built in 1976 and upgraded in 2018. The unit is configured for offshore drilling operations in WD ranging from 5.18 m to 91.44 m, with a max drilling depth of 6,096 m using 127 mm DP. The hull measures 75.46 m in length, 69.32 m in breadth and 7.92 m in depth, with a transit draft of 4.72 m and transit displacement of approx. 11,055 MT. Transit speed is approx. 5 kn.
The unit is supported by 3 × 124.97 m square-truss legs, with an additional 30.78 m available to provide a total possible leg length of 155.75 m. Leg spacing is 39.32 m longitudinally and 43.28 m transversely. Each leg is fitted with a spud can measuring approx. 14.02 m in dia. and 7.32 m in height. The electric rack-and-pinion jacking and skidding system has an operating speed of approx. 27.43 m/hr. The available air gap is 24.38 m, based on the available leg length beneath the hull and including a 1.52 m operational margin.
The rig is designed for survival conditions of up to 51.44 m/s wind speed, 13 sec wave period and 13.41 m wave height. The cantilever incorporates slot dimensions of approx. 12.50 m × 15.24 m and supports a max cantilever load of approx. 594 MT. The unit is skid-off capable and provides a pipe-rack area of approx. 427.35 m². VDL and total drilling load are each approx. 3,484 MT.
The drilling package includes a derrick measuring approx. 51.82 m × 9.14 m × 9.14 m, rated to approx. 680 MT. The 1320-UE drawworks is powered by a 1,491 kW electric drive and fitted with a 7838 brake. The rotary system comprises a C-375 rotary table with a 952.5 mm opening and EMD D79 motor drive. A TDS-4H top drive with PH-85 pipe handler is installed, together with a 760H travelling block rated to approx. 590 MT.
Main power is supplied by 3 × EMD 16-645-E8 engines developing a combined output of 6,600 HP. Electrical generation is provided by 3 × 1,575 kW, 600 V gen sets, while power distribution is arranged through a 5-bay Emerson drive system with a total capacity of 6,000 kW. Emergency power is supplied by 1 × CAT 3412-TA diesel unit.
The drilling-fluid system includes 2 × 12-P-160 triplex mud pumps. Mud-cleaning equipment incorporates a Mongoose Pro 4-panel flow-line cleaner and a HI-G desilter rated at approx. 2,839 l/min with 20 × 101.6 mm cones. The hydraulic catwalk accommodates pipe lengths up to 13.72 m and pipe dia. ranging from 73.03 mm to 914.4 mm.
The cementing package comprises an FIP system with 2 × triplex pumps rated to approx. 1,034 bar and approx. 1,908 l/min. Drill-string equipment includes 127 mm DP, 127 mm HWDP, 165.1 mm DC, 203.2 mm DC and 241.3 mm DC in the stated onboard configurations. The rig carries 50 × 127 mm HWDP joints, 50 × 165.1 mm DC, 12 × 203.2 mm DC and 6 × 241.3 mm DC.
The well-control package includes 1 × 346.08 mm × 345 bar annular BOP, 1 × 346.08 mm × 689 bar double-ram BOP and 1 × 346.08 mm × 689 bar single-ram BOP. The BOP control system has an approx. 1,420 l capacity, operates at approx. 207 bar and is air/electric powered with 3 control panels. The diverter is an MSP unit rated at approx. 138 bar with a 539.75 mm bore. The choke-and-kill system incorporates 77.79 mm lines rated to approx. 689 bar, together with 2 × HCR and 2 × manual valves.
Tank capacities include approx. 255.17 m³ liquid mud, 176.70 m³ bulk mud/cement, 1,675.44 m³ drill water, 205.72 m³ potable water, 751.62 m³ FO and 57.71 m³ base oil. Sack storage capacity is 2,500 sacks.
Accommodation is provided for 88 persons. Marine and auxiliary equipment includes an RF 4000-M Red Fox sewage-treatment system, an NH75463+APC FCI water maker and 3 × PCM-120AS electric cranes with AC/DC motors. The helideck is suitable for S-61 operations and has a dia. of approx. 21.34 m.
