This purpose-designed landing craft is intended for the transportation and delivery of cargo and is classed BV. The vessel has an LOA of 68.00 m, a B mld of 16.00 m, a D mld of 4.50 m and a design draft of 3.594 m. Her est. free-running speed is 11 kn.
The main propulsion plant comprises 2 × Yanmar 6EY17W MEs, each rated at 1,138 PS at 1,450 rpm. The MEs are HX-cooled and fitted with electric starting systems. Power is transmitted through 2 × Reintjes WAF563 GBs with a reduction ratio of 5.05:1 to 2 × SS 316 propeller shafts. The propulsion arrangement incorporates 2 × 4-blade manganese-bronze FPPs operating in nozzles. The stern-tube seals are water-lubricated, while the stern-tube bearings are BTC cutless type.
The vessel is equipped with 2 × mild-steel rudders, together with 2 × water-lubricated rudder-stock seals. Steering is provided by an electro-hydraulic Palmarine PEH3002-2P SG system or eq., rated at 2 × 3.0 t·m at a 35° steering angle. The SG arrangement includes a dual-pump electro-hydraulic HPU, emergency manual hydraulic steering from the WH and joystick steering controls installed at the fwd WH control console.
Enhanced low-speed maneuverability is provided by 1 × Kamome TFA-50DHN BT rated at 5 t thrust. The BT is driven by 1 × Yanmar 6HYM-WET engine rated at 500 PS through a Twin Disc MG 5082 SC GB with a ratio of 1.53:1. ME and BT controls are electronic and operated from the WH. A twin-engine telegraph with 24 VDC visual and audible indications is also installed.
Electrical power is supplied by 2 × CAT C7.1 DGs, each rated at 150 ekW at 1,500 rpm. The DGs are HX-cooled and electrically started. Emergency electrical power is provided by 1 × Cummins 6BT5.9-GM83 emergency DG or eq., fitted with a 58 kW alternator operating at 1,500 rpm. The vessel is fitted with an MSB and associated DBs for electrical distribution.
Tank capacities include approx. 340 m³ FO, approx. 1,106 m³ long-range FO, approx. 183 m³ FW and approx. 561 m³ BW. The pumping installation includes 1 × bilge and ballast pump rated at 45 m³/h at 40 m, 1 × GS/fire pump rated at 45 m³/h at 40 m, 1 × emergency bilge pump rated at 40 m³/h at 30 m and 1 × emergency fire pump rated at 40 m³/h at 40 m.
The vessel is additionally fitted with 1 × black-water pump rated at 15 m³/h at 20 m, 1 × FO transfer gear pump rated at 9 m³/h at 25 m, 1 × long-range FO pump rated at 80 m³/h at 50 m, 1 × FW cargo pump rated at 50 m³/h at 50 m and 1 × FW transfer pump rated at 50 m³/h at 50 m. The FW and SW pressure installation comprises 2 × sets rated at 5 m³/h at 32 m, each supplied with a 100 l tank, together with 1 × FW/SW standby set rated at 5 m³/h at 32 m.
Further pumping systems include 1 × sewage/grey-water discharge pump rated at 15 m³/h at 20 m, 1 × dirty-oil gear pump rated at 5 m³/h at 20 m, 1 × AC SW cooling pump rated at 45 m³/h at 30 m and 1 × SW cooling standby pump rated at 45 m³/h at 30 m. Separate AC cooling pumps are provided for the ECR and WH, each rated at 25 m³/h at 25 m, together with 1 × provision/refrigeration cooling pump rated at 25 m³/h at 20 m.
The HVAC arrangement includes a marine central AC system. Pollution-control equipment includes 1 × electronic OWS rated at 0.5 m³/h at 15 ppm and 1 × STP sized for 14 persons. The vessel is fitted with a non-Ex BWMS, partly skid-mounted and rated for a flow range of 5–85 m³/h. Refrigerated provision spaces are served by a semi-hermetic compressor and SW-cooled condenser. The auxiliary installation also includes 1 × service air compressor rated at 750 l/min.
Domestic and galley equipment includes 1 × electric cooking range with 4 square hotplates and an oven, 1 × food-waste disposer, 1 × washing machine with a 10 kg capacity and 1 × spin dryer with a 6.5 kg capacity. Accommodation is arranged for a total complement of 14 persons in 4 × single-berth cabins and 5 × twin-berth cabins.
Deck machinery includes 2 × 2,150 kg stockless anchors with 14 × Ø 30 mm Grade 2 stud-link anchor-chain lengths. The electro-hydraulic ramp and anchor winch is rated at 8 t at 15 m/min and is fitted with 1 × gypsy, wire reels and warping drums. The aft deck is equipped with 1 × electro-hydraulic vertical capstan rated at 3 t at 10 m/min.
The nav and comms suite is arranged for GMDSS A3 and includes 1 × GMDSS A3 radio console, 1 × LRIT-compliant Inmarsat-C terminal, 1 × dedicated Inmarsat-C SSAS terminal, 1 × GMDSS MF/HF radiotelephone and 1 × GMDSS VHF/DSC transceiver. The installation further includes 1 × PA/talkback system, 1 × EPIRB, 1 × Class A AIS, 2 × SARTs and 3 × portable GMDSS VHF radios.
Nav equipment includes 1 × primary radar with a 64 NM range, 1 × secondary radar with a 48 NM range, 1 × echo sounder, 1 × speed log, 1 × gyrocompass, 1 × GPS navigator, 1 × NAVTEX receiver, 1 × AP system, 1 × BNWAS and 1 × reflector-type magnetic compass. Internal comms are supported by 1 × intercom system and 1 × batteryless sound-powered telephone system.
The WH outfit includes 1 × remote-control searchlight rated at 2,000 W, 8 × 400 W halogen floodlights, nav lights, 1 × electric air horn, 1 × wind-speed and direction system, 1 × TV antenna, 1 × 300 mm clear-view screen operating at 24 VDC and 2 × straight-line window wipers.
The fixed FFS includes a CO₂ system with bottles installed in a dedicated CO₂ room and protection provided for the E/R and B/T compartment, with capacity arranged in accordance with Class requirements. The vessel is equipped with 2 × SOLAS fireman’s outfits, 18 × portable fire extinguishers, 1 × Class-approved fire-detection and alarm system, and a firemain arrangement incorporating 13 × hydrants with associated hoses.
LSA includes 2 × SOLAS inflatable liferafts, each rated for 25 persons, 11 × SOLAS lifebuoys, 18 × SOLAS lifejackets, 1 × SOLAS line-throwing appliance with 4 × projectiles and lines, 12 × SOLAS parachute distress rockets, 2 × first-aid kits, 2 × MOB smoke/light fittings and 8 × EEBDs.
The rescue-boat installation comprises 1 × FRP rescue boat measuring 4.50 m × 1.86 m × 0.86 m and arranged for 6 persons. The rescue boat is fitted with a 40 hp OBM and handled by a dedicated davit crane with an SWL of 21 kN. The vessel is also fitted with mild-steel manholes complete with SS bolts and nuts.
