This DP1 Offshore Supply Vessel, built in 2001, is a robust U.S.-flagged, Jones Act compliant offshore support unit designed and constructed by Bollinger Shipyards in the USA. The vessel is classed under USCG L, ORV and is equipped with a DP1 dynamic positioning system utilizing an IVCS2000-DP1 interface, ensuring reliable station keeping for offshore supply and support operations.
The vessel measures an LOA of 45.72 m, with a width of 10.97 m, and a molded depth of 3.50 m, operating at a light draft of 2.59 m and a loaded draft of 3.04 m. It has a DWT equivalent of approximately 520 LT, a GRT of 360 LT, and a displacement of 386.07 LT, making it a compact yet highly capable offshore utility platform.
Propulsion is provided by a Cummins KTA 38MO main engine delivering 1,800 BHP, connected through MG5301 reduction gears at a 4.96:1 ratio, supported by twin disk bow thruster systems for enhanced maneuverability and DP station keeping. Electrical power is supplied by two Cummins 6CTA generators rated at 99 kW each, alongside a dedicated 242 HP mud pump system operating at 1,750 RPM.
The vessel features a main work deck area of 250.84 m² (30 ft x 90 ft), engineered for a deck strength of 785 lbs per sq. ft., with a total deck tonnage capacity of 360 LT. Below deck and tank capacities include drill water of 50,332 USG, fuel capacity of 28,931 USG, transferable fuel of 13,000 USG, running fuel tanks of 16,502 USG, and potable water storage of 14,000 USG, providing strong endurance and operational flexibility for offshore campaigns.
Accommodation is arranged for 18 personnel, including 4 crew and 14 passenger berths, supported by onboard mess facilities for 12 persons, making the vessel suitable for mixed crew and client operations.
Navigation and communications are supported by a modern suite including C-Nav 1000 GPS, dual Simrad radar systems, Furuno depth and communication equipment, VSAT internet and email connectivity, satellite communications, and Maptech Offshore Navigator charting software, ensuring full offshore operational awareness and compliance.
Performance-wise, the vessel achieves a maximum speed of 10 knots with fuel consumption of approximately 90 USG/hr, while maintaining an economical cruising speed of 8 knots at 65 USG/hr. DP operations at 80% propulsion result in consumption of approximately 60 USG/hr, demonstrating efficient fuel management for extended offshore missions.
Discharge capabilities are extensive, including drill water at 625 USG/min at 150 ft, potable water at 380 USG/min at 100 ft, fuel oil transfer at 360 USG/min at 100 ft, and fire monitor capability of 2,400 USG/min at 380 ft, making the vessel highly versatile for offshore supply, firefighting support, and logistical operations.
